Tomas, originally from Mexico City, has embraced life in the United States for over four decades. A graduate of San Francisco State University with a degree in film and broadcasting, he carved out a successful career in the film and television industry, both domestically and internationally. However, fueled by a deep-seated passion for education, Tomas redirected his professional journey, earning a master’s degree in elementary education (grades 1-6) and a middle school math license from the University of Minnesota. With over 28 years of teaching experience, Tomas has made significant contributions in diverse educational settings, including Spanish immersion schools.
His teaching journey spans grades 3 to 10, specializing in teaching algebra and geometry to middle and high school students. Tomas firmly believes in the collaborative nature of education, recognizing the integral role families, parents, and guardians play in the educational team. Beyond his professional pursuits, Tomas is an avid soccer enthusiast, actively participating in both watching and playing the game. His coaching experience extends to multiple youth teams. In his leisure time, he enjoys playing the guitar, cooking, watching movies, and reading. Tomas has recently relocated to Denver after retiring from full-time teaching, eager to explore and appreciate the beauty of this vibrant area.
