Robin Wiley has worked in education for 21 years. She taught Kindergarten for one year, first grade for 4 years and 2nd grade for 11 years. All those years were spent at a top performing title 1 school where she learned a lot and worked with amazing people. Robin also spent one year as a reading interventionist for grades K-5. Since then she has worked as a CDLE Teacher Leader. She continues to work with students in grades K-5 in small groups. Her focus is developing english language with multi-lingual learners in all content areas. Robin is also part of the instructional leadership team at her building. She coaches teachers, plans professional development, helps with assessments, and so much more. When it comes to tutoring, Robin is an expert in foundational literacy and foundational math skills. She believes in breaking concepts down into small managable pieces. She knows that if she provides the right tools, models, and practice students can learn and understand concepts. Small steps make big progress.
As a human, Robin loves nature. Her favorite outdoor activites include rock climbing, hiking, paddleboarding, dancing(indoor and out) and reading in a hammock. She loves games of all kinds: board games, video games, puzzles, ect. Many of her lessons include games, because they make learning more fun! She also loves music and incorporates it if she can. Robin plays the piano, guitar, and sings. Her children are currently in high school and college. Their favorite things to do together are escape rooms, going to museums, cooking new recipes (Asian recipes are the current favorite) and playing with their cat and dog.
