Nicole, a native of Littleton, Colorado, earned her degree in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Missouri. After graduating, she returned to her home state and taught preschool at Breckenridge Montessori, revelling in both her role as a teacher and her passion for snowboarding. Despite her love for Breckenridge, Nicole eventually moved to the Wash Park area to be closer to family and friends and to pursue a master’s degree in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education.
For the past six years, Nicole has been a dedicated first-grade teacher in a Mapleton Public school. First grade, for her, is a teaching haven where the enthusiasm of students, the focus on phonics, and the introduction of more challenging math concepts create the perfect blend. Certified in the Orton-Gillingham method and specializing in subjects from Kindergarten to 2nd Grade, Nicole is passionate about creating an environment where students can express themselves, guiding them to become focused, independent learners. Believing in the power of creative and innovative thinking, Nicole fosters an atmosphere that encourages students to explore new strategies. Nicole, a Lifelong Learner herself, shares her love of learning with all her students and continues to seek new ways to enhance her students’ tutoring experience.
