Laurie Orsic

Laurie Orsic, a certified Elementary Montessori teacher, holds a master’s degree in Early Childhood Education (0-8) from The College of New Jersey. With over 25 years of experience in schools, Laurie has served in various roles as both a teacher and administrator. She has undertaken extensive professional development, participating in programs such as Reading Assist (Orton-Gillingham-based), Wilson Fundations, Six Plus One Traits of Writing, and Handwriting Without Tears. Laurie enjoys providing foundational numeracy and literacy experiences to her students. She crafts personalized math and reading lessons by employing hands-on, multi-sensory, and experiential approaches.

By implementing structured tutorial routines, Laurie fosters an environment where students not only experience confidence-boosting successes but also confront challenges that enhance their academic stamina and skills. Relocating to the Denver area in 2019 to be closer to her children and grandchildren, Laurie, a lifelong Delawarean, embraces the opportunity to explore and discover life in Colorado. Beyond education, she finds joy in reading, cooking, and sharing sports and movie moments with her West Highland terrier and husband. Laurie’s absolute favorite pastime is singing, echoing Ella Fitzgerald’s sentiment, “The only thing better than singing is more singing.
