Jamie is a native of Denver, Colorado. She studied at the University of New Mexico where she competed in track and field while earning her MBA in International Business. Her teaching career began in Albuquerque, New Mexico where she taught Special Education; working with students on both sides of the Special Education spectrum, from Autism to Gifted and Talented for 7 years. Upon her return to Colorado, Jamie worked in an elementary school and currently works in a 6-12 school in Aurora, Colorado.

Jamie has spent most of her career working in Special Education and with English Language Learners (ELL) providing literacy and math intervention. She is literate and able to converse at a conversational Spanish level. Jamie is patient and believes in a holistic approach to teaching. She tries to relate lessons to students’ lives.

While not teaching, Jamie enjoys exploring/traveling, staying active, reading a good book, or watching cooking shows.
