Erica is a dedicated educator and proud Denver native with over 10 years experience as a Special Education teacher in Denver Public Schools, working in Title 1 schools. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education from Metropolitan State University of Denver and went on to earn a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Colorado at Denver.
Throughout her career, Erica has honed a deep understanding of how to fine-tune instructional practices to meet the diverse needs of her students. Her expertise lies in analyzing student data, building meaningful relationships with learners and applying personalized strategies to close the achievement gap in literacy, math and executive functioning skills.
As a certified Orton-Gillingham instructor, Erica has developed a passion for supporting students with markers of dyslexia and other literacy challenges, utilizing structured literacy techniques to help learners succeed. Her goal is always to help students realize their potential, believe in their capabilities and develop a love of learning that will last a lifetime.
When she’s not in the classroom, Erica enjoys finding new coffee spots with her fiance, trying to figure out when to squeeze in a run, traveling and spending time with her German Shepherd, Loki.
