Teresa Lucero is a proud Colorado native with almost 30 years of teaching experience in Jefferson County Public Schools. She brings valuable frontline experience, having taught first through fifth grades, and her love for education shines as brightly as the Columbine-blue skies of her home state.
Teresa has made academic success a top priority for her students by continually expanding her own professional learning. She is trained in Orton-Gillingham and is deeply committed to differentiated instruction that meets students’ unique needs and strengths. With a strong understanding of the learning continuum, she fosters high-performing, confidence-building classroom environments. Teresa also places a strong emphasis on cultivating meaningful relationships with students and their families, ensuring a supportive and engaging educational experience. Her careful monitoring of student understanding supports long-term academic achievement.
A homegrown Colorado talent, Teresa holds a Master’s in Curriculum and Administration from the University of Colorado at Denver and a Bachelor’s in Psychology from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Her dedication to excellence is evident in both her practice and her purpose. Outside the classroom, Teresa enjoys spending time with her wonderful husband, their three children, and their beloved dogs.
