Meet the Wash Park Tutors

Megan “Coach” Schneider

Coach Schneider is originally from New Orleans, Louisiana. This is her 13th year in education. She graduated from LSU and the University of New Orleans where she graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Elementary Education & Special Education. Prior to her life in education Coach owned a catering business and majored in business and mathematics. She started her educational career as an Athletic Director at The Science and Mathematics Charter School. There she was also the Head Basketball and Softball Coach. Coach also worked with local colleges to coordinate tutors for student athletes.

While teaching in New Orleans, coach taught 3rd grade, Middle School Math Teacher, and P.E. Teacher. There she also coached basketball, flag football, and tennis. Coach Schneider moved to Colorado in 2019 and has spent the last five years at the International Academy of Denver as the Physical Education teacher. In her current role, she has also served as the Saturday school teacher, math and science interventionist, SLT member, Wellness Champion and basketball and flag football coach. This year, Coach will be the 4th grade ELA-E Teacher, Basketball, Soccer, and Flag Football Coach, Wellness Champion and 4th/5th Team Specialist. She is looking forward to bringing her experience as a coach into the classroom, and creating an environment that is engaging and built on mutual respect. Coach runs a Pokémon club at her school. She also loves video games, board games, math, and cooking!
