Lyly is a Denver native who herself attended Denver Public Schools from elementary through high school. She earned her teaching license through the University of Northern Colorado and later completed her master’s degree at the University of Colorado Denver. She began her teaching career in kindergarten as a dual language teacher and quickly fell in love with the work. After six years in the classroom, she now serves as an instructional coach and reading interventionist.
A few years ago, she also began tutoring and quickly discovered how much she enjoyed working with students in a more individualized setting. She loves building positive relationships with students and tailoring learning to their interests and strengths. She has a strong passion for early literacy and finds it especially rewarding to witness students’ confidence grow as they learn how to read. Working across grade levels has strengthened her skill set and deepened her understanding of how students grow throughout their primary years. She is passionate about fostering a love for learning and supporting students.
Outside of work, Lyly enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, and pets, as well as going on family outings.
