Joshua Warren is a math educator with nearly 30 years of experience as a paid math tutor, having begun tutoring at the age of 14. About 13 years ago, he took the leap into classroom teaching, where he discovered that while teaching is demanding, it is also his true passion.
Originally from Houston, Texas, Joshua relocated to Denver in the summer of 2024 with his partner of 21 years. The move has been an overwhelmingly positive experience; one he embraces with no regrets.
What sets Joshua apart from other math educators is his deep commitment to the human side of teaching. He recognizes math anxiety as a learned trauma response that is often overlooked in traditional classrooms. Beyond his expertise in breaking down mathematical content, he is especially skilled at supporting students through the emotional challenges that can accompany learning math.
“You’re the best math teacher I’ve ever had” is something Joshua hears almost daily in his work; it’s a compliment he never gets tired of hearing.
In addition to teaching math, Joshua is also a programmer. He spent his 20’s in software development acquiring a degree from the University of Houston in Computer Science with a minor in Mathematics. He has two 13-year-old cats named Mister Sidney and Mattie. They are two brothers that he has known since their mother was carrying them. He loves hosting parties, social events, and has discovered a passion for hiking! After years of saving and planning, he and his partner are currently building a mountain home in a community named Pinewood Springs, right South of Estes Park. Not only is his lot on a river, but his neighborhood also has hundreds of miles of hiking trails accessible right from his doorstep!
He brings passion to all he commits to and leaves an impression wherever he goes.
