John Marcysiak

John, equipped with a B.A. in Music Education from Elmhurst College, Illinois, and an M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Colorado, Denver, initiated his career as a music teacher in a private school and later in Aurora Public Schools. With a transition to Elementary Education, he furthered his impact by teaching 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades in a Title One school for seventeen years. During this time, John dedicated himself to students working significantly below grade level, addressing their unique educational needs.

Embracing the belief that learning should be enjoyable, John infuses his teaching with elements that make education interesting and fun. He is a firm advocate for providing every student with the time and opportunity to achieve their goals. In moments of academic challenge, John motivates his students by affirming their capability to conquer difficult tasks. Having recently retired from a remarkable twenty-three-year journey with Aurora Public Schools, John continues his teaching endeavors as a tutor. In this new chapter, he looks forward to embracing the joys of teaching, reading, playing guitar and piano, spending quality time outdoors, raising his son, and cherishing moments with his pets.
