Haley’s journey into teaching and tutoring took diverse paths, from being a camp counselor and au pairing in Belgium to teaching English in Vietnam. Driven by a passion for working with students and a love for English literature, she pursued a Master’s degree in English Education at the University of Colorado – Denver, where she found joy in creating innovative ways to help struggling readers and writers discover their voice. Upon completing her degree, Haley began her teaching career in Mapleton Public Schools as a 7th-grade English Language Arts teacher.
Achieving remarkable success, she taught English and Screenwriting to middle schoolers, earning the district’s most improved reading scores and a nomination for Rookie Teacher of the Year. Transitioning to teach 10th-grade English and 11th/12th-grade Research Writing, Haley continued to live her passion for empowering students, incorporating grammar exercises, games, and a commitment to making education enjoyable and engaging. Beyond teaching, Haley is an avid reader, painter, and illustrator of a children’s book. She finds joy in the outdoor activities that Colorado offers, such as hiking, camping, SUP, and snowboarding.
