Ally is a second-grade teacher based in Denver, Colorado. With a passion to help students achieve their academic goals and encourage a love for learning, she has spent 10 years dedicated to teaching first and second grade students. While working in a low-income neighborhood and having many multi language learners, she continues to thrive to meet the needs of all her students in a kind and caring way. Her teaching style is a hands-on engaging approach using manipulatives, images, songs, chants, pictures and drawings.
Ally graduated from Metropolitan University with a degree in Human development with an emphasis in elementary education and received her Master of Arts degree in Teaching English as a Second Language from Grand Canyon University. She has since worked with Rocky Mountain Association of IB World Schools, Teachers College Reading and Writing Project, and Mapleton Public Schools. She is particularly interested in the Science of Reading and Orton Gillingham approaches.
When not working, Ally loves to spend time with her family and friends, camp, paddleboard, and travel. She believes it is important to stay balanced with both work and leisure activities!
