Meet the Wash Park Tutors

Rachel Harbaugh

Rachel, originally from Virginia, has been teaching for three years and currently teaches 4th grade in Denver. Rachel has a natural ability to make learning visible for children and adapting to any learning needs. Rachel’s teaching style works with anticipating each lesson and reflecting in the moment, which makes her very responsive to student needs. Rachel has her Bachelor’s in Elementary Education and her Master’s in Teaching from Virginia Commonwealth University. Rachel has a passion for teaching math and reading as well as making any student feel heard. She believes that a strong education will begin by working with multiple levels of critical thinking and considering the student’s best interests intertwined in the instruction being taught in a safe learning environment.

In her freetime, Rachel loves to be outdoors and hangout with her dog Winston as well as go on long runs. Rachel played soccer for most of her life and has a big family back home in Virginia, with three sisters and three step brothers. This is her first year in Colorado and she is loving the amount of activities and natural beauty this state has to offer!
