For the past 13 years, Emily has dedicated herself to teaching and supporting students in the Denver area. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Nebraska and has experience teaching and tutoring students across grades K–8 and a wide range of subjects. Emily has worked with students throughout elementary and middle school in literacy, writing, math, and other academic areas. She has a particular passion for literacy and helping students develop the skills and confidence they need to become successful learners.
Working with students with diverse backgrounds, learning styles, and abilities has taught Emily the importance of seeing the whole child and finding the approach that works best for each individual student. She believes strong relationships are at the heart of successful tutoring and takes the time to understand how each child learns, what motivates them, and where they may need extra support. Her goal is for students to feel comfortable, capable, and genuinely excited to come to their tutoring sessions each week.
Emily especially enjoys tutoring because it allows her to focus closely on each student’s individual needs. She creates lessons that are hands-on, engaging, and purposeful, incorporating games, movement, conversation, and students’ personal interests whenever possible. Whether a student needs extra practice with a challenging math concept, support with reading and writing, or simply a little encouragement to believe in themselves, Emily enjoys finding creative ways to make learning feel approachable and rewarding.
When she isn’t teaching or tutoring, Emily loves riding her bike, traveling, reading, baking and cooking, doing puzzles, and spending time with her husband and new daughter.
