Kathryn Thompson

Kathryn, a Denver native raised by an elementary school teacher and a structural engineer, discovered her passion for teaching after exploring marketing and customer service roles following college. Influenced by her mother’s belief in her teaching abilities, Kathryn embraced a career in education, choosing to teach secondary math due to her love for problem-solving and witnessing students’ “aha” moments. Building relationships with her students and hearing them express newfound confidence in math bring her immense joy. She strives to make math enjoyable and focuses on understanding each student’s personal strengths and challenges, tailoring lesson plans to meet their specific needs.

As a licensed K-12 math teacher with an additional endorsement in elementary education, Kathryn has taught various math levels, specializing in 8th and 6th grades. Armed with an undergraduate degree in Marketing and Entrepreneurship from The University of Arizona and a Masters in Teaching Math from Seattle Pacific University, Kathryn brings a diverse skill set to her teaching. Outside the classroom, Kathryn enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons, Parker (4) and Max (2), engaging in activities like gardening, yoga, and embroidery.
